Re: Bruce Springsteen
There’s a coupling of songs in the midst of this, E Street Shuffle and Incident on 57th Street that I listened to today amongst the others, and it just reminds me of how absurdly amazing The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle is as an album. I mean, it helps that these performances are off the charts.

Looks like Tracks 2 is finally getting announced this week. Latest rumours are it's 7 discs of 'Lost Albums' from the 80s and 90s.

Bruce has got to be one of the most aggressive strummers ever. Every downstroke is a full-arm assault.

I am assuming no one is asking him where he found those lost albums. “Uh, I swore I put them on the coffee table. Turns out I put them all in the coat closet and it wasn’t until we were spring cleaning that these 7 reels just showed up out of nowhere after 40 years. You wouldn’t believe what else we found there…but we’re saving that for Tracks 3.”

He's actually one of my favorite lead players too. Incredible the noise he gets out of each note.Kevin Davis wrote:Bruce has got to be one of the most aggressive strummers ever. Every downstroke is a full-arm assault.

I'm not well versed in Springsteen lore at all, so I'm wondering: did people know these albums existed, they just have never been released? (a la Neil Young's Chrome Dreams) Or are these all total surprises?

Re: Bruce Springsteen
As far as I am aware, total surprises. However, Springsteen is known for having a huge huge amount of b-sides in general. Each of the albums he has reissued over the last 10-15 years has at least a full albums worth, and sometimes two, of b-sides, not to mention Tracks I.Simple Torture wrote:Cool!liebzz wrote:https://brucespringsteen.net/news/2025/bruce-springsteens-tracks-ii-the-lost-albums-featuring-7-never-heard-full-length-records/

Tracks II begins with LA Garage Sessions ’83, recorded in advance of Springsteen’s blockbuster Born In The U.S.A. album. The forthcoming set also includes albums entitled Streets Of Philadelphia Sessions, Faithless, Somewhere North Of Nashville, Inyo, Twilight Hours and Perfect World.

Really excited about this release. The cohesion of putting together actual 'albums' is fantastic to me with the timeframe of 1983-2018 clearly incorporated in Tracks '79-'95 stretch. The footage looks a bit from the Blood Brothers doc which is an era that was obviously quiet and I know you mentioned wasn't remarked on much in the autobiography but intrigues me greatly.liebzz wrote:Tracks II begins with LA Garage Sessions ’83, recorded in advance of Springsteen’s blockbuster Born In The U.S.A. album. It's great that the set starts with '83 and that was the final year included in the Lost Masters bootlegs and also after anything we have gotten with The Promise and The Ties That Bind released with the reissues.
Tomorrow's playlist will definitely be Springsteen heavy...

Re: Bruce Springsteen
It will be fascinating. When I finally listened to Tracks, it blew my mind that I liked the 90s stuff on there more than anything else he’d released that decade. He has a narrative he wants to present and not even better songs are going to disrupt that. Interesting always to hear what he hasn’t released.oasisfan35 wrote:Really excited about this release.
