It's really good, and I'm not always a fan of what Miley does. Under the harsher industrial and noise flourishes it's a really nice, emotive soul song. Those Stax-style horns add a lot

I know the lennytheweedwhacker account is a bit of an RM shtick but I'm enjoying Kyle's record too.

He's probably the best post-SNL musical act since the Blues Brothers.

The Hives are back and have announced their seventh album, The Hives Forever Forever The Hives, which will be out August 29 via PIAS. The album was co-produced by the Beastie Boys‘ Mike D and Pelle Gunnerfeldt (Viagra Boys), and features contributions from Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age).

The new one from Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs is pretty good and then it gets to the track with EL-P and it goes thermonuclear.

Carousel and Toecurler are also highlights.

A post for trag:
Drag City Records have announced the release of two new solo albums of music from Tim Barnes.

The revered Louisville, Kentucky drummer and percussionist’s Lost Words and Noumena are each scheduled for arrival on June 27th and were conceived in collaboration with Tortoise, Bastro and Gastr del Sol alumnus Ken Brown over a period of several years subsequent to receiving a diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer’s in 2021. Amongst a wealth of collaborators seen to join Barnes and Brown across the two forthcoming projects are Darin Gray (Wilco), David Grubbs (Squirrel Bait, Bastro, Gastr del Sol), Rob Mazurek (Chicago Underground, Isotope 217), Doug McCombs (Brokeback, Tortoise), Tara Jane O’Neil (Rodan, The Sonora Pine), Jim O’Rourke (Gastr del Sol, Sonic Youth) and Britt Walford (The Breeders, Slint).

New HAIM single Everybody's Trying To Figure Me Out is on streaming services but no video as yet. Should be another really solid record when it all finally drops.
