Listened to this whole album today. It's terrific, though I was immediately partial to the ones sung by Alison; the ones sung by the guy were a little too "Oh Brother Where art Thou?" for me.

He is known for his updated version of the song "Man of Constant Sorrow," which was featured in the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou? and won the 2001 CMA award for best single as well as a Grammy Award for best Country Collaboration with Vocals (along with Harley Allen and Pat Enright, filling out the vocals for the movie's Soggy Bottom Boys). In total, he has won 14 Grammy Awards[3][4] for solo and collaborative projects. In 2013, he was the vocalist on Avicii's international hit "Hey Brother" from the album True. Tyminski received the Bluegrass Star Award from the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation of Dallas, Texas, in 2021. The award is bestowed upon bluegrass artists who do an exemplary job of advancing traditional bluegrass music while preserving its character and heritage.[5][6]

I'm with you, though, despite really liking O Brother Where Art Thou. I'm not hugely knowledgeable about Krauss and Union Station, but I have the album Lonely Runs Both Ways, and overwhelmingly the best songs are hers.

I like his songs and LOVE Man of Constant Sorrow but he does seem to be a bit of a one trick pony in his vocal delivery.
Her voice is incredible. She sounds younger than she is. I might try to go see them in Redding CA this summer.

I finally got around to listening to this for a second time. These guys are on another planet. Are they mostly improvising or is it all written out? Incredible sound.

A friend of a friend of mine passed unexpectedly over the weekend. A titan of local industry as co founder of one of the top breweries Falling Knife, and bass player for this band Self Evident. Math Rock. I think a guy like Ello Sailor would love. Maybe many of you would also. They were about to record a new album and head to japan this summer i believe.

Revisiting their music. They were the band everybody idolized in high school because they were....really fucking good and unique. Believed to be heart failure which isn't shocking to a ton of people who knew him. He lived life the way he wanted but an absolute giant teddy bear. Their band rules.
