Dear, Jamily it has been brought to our attention that some of you are of the opinion that Eddie doesn't have a good voice or at least are not sure. Some have stated that you aren't sure if he has a real voice.
Make no mistake continued discussion in this thread of any opinion other than Eddie at least being the best of his generation will result in your removal from the Pearl Jam multi verse.
This will be our last word on the topic.

Thr Ten era of Eddie Vedder is why most people I’ve met who don’t like Pearl Jam… don’t like Pearl Jam. The overwrought earnestness as a palate cleanser for hair metal might have been appealing for some, but the difference between Grunge and the popular rock of the late 80s and early 90s is more slight than the difference between Grunge and the creatively exploratory indie rock of the same era. Not as much of a difference between GnR and early PJ as there is between early PJ, and, say, Sonic Yourh or Pavement.

I don't know about all of that. But I do think anyone who views earnestness as a barrier/problem/pejorative/etc is sus AF. And probably not someone I'm gonna gel/hang out with in any serious capacity. Which is not to say those people are "bad" or whatever. Just not my people, ya know?

But this is likely no less true of any of the major grunge bands of the era (for folks who don't like Eddie, but, say, love Layne)
