Owls are dope. Protect them owls, brother.
I think about owls all the time. I love them. I bet I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve seen them in the wild. I really wish we had a resident owl.
I have had many cool experiences with a variety of species of owls. A couple years ago had a legendary experience with 3 pretty large ones who seemed to be totally confused by my headlamp and let me come right up to them. But I have a lot of wildlife experiences. Pretty sure I saw a wolf in the dark by the river about a week ago.
I’ve never seen a wolf in the wild. I live in a St. Paul suburb with a ranch behind my house; however, you can also see Costco and Top Golf from my house. We see turkeys and deer daily and see coyotes occasionally (hear them nightly). We have a resident pheasant and an active eagles nest is visible in the distance, A raccoon was on our deck last week and possums abound. Foxes are not uncommon. Someone even got a photo of a bobcat a couple springs ago, but I’ve never seen one. I have seen an owl a couple times, but none in the last year. Seeing a wolf would be incredible.
I've been to St. Paul. Minnesota is pretty much Canada, so you guys definitely have bears and wolves and all that. But yeah, The Shield has a very dense and fucked up sort of bush. Easy for wolves to hide from humans in.

That’s the wildest surgery I’ve ever been a part of with X-ray. They cut that lady’s leg at the joint and laid her leg against her side with her foot at her head. Damnedest thing I ever saw.

That said, when Mema Wease had her replacement done, they had her up and walking down the hall an hour after her surgery. Recovery from it usually goes very well.

Great, now I’ll live in fear of needing one of these. Horrific!

Every person I’ve talked to that have had it done has marveled at how quickly recovery went. And at how much the surgery helped them.

Now, knees on the other hand…

my daughter's on day 6 of recovery after acl surgery. i wasn't prepared for the amount of bruising (which included the surgeon's initials (which evidently is a thing so there's no confusion if the physical therapy people have questions/issues)). the doctor explained that he contorts the shit out of the leg and joint to make sure it took.

I love an oatmeal raisin cookie, but I need to be expecting it. I like milk too, but if I’m expecting water and it’s milk, I’ll gag for sure.

We worked the Predators game tonight, last game of the season, and they held drawings for 20 or so prizes for all concession workers. They gave us each 5 tickets and we could distribute them however we wanted between the prizes and I won a shiatsu foot massager.
