By the way, I expected the RATM record to sound like shit, but it sounds great.
It is basically a live version of their first album. All 10 songs, in order, from various shows in 1993.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

That’s good to know. That live at the RNC or whatever sounded like complete trash.

Haden is such a great bassplayer. Metheny plays guitar really well, but like you alluded to, has no soul.

I love this album! I went through a big Charlie Haden phase around the time I watched the documentary about his life. This was one of my favorite releases of his, they play together very beautifully.

Another good one is Rambling Boy, a collection of folk and country songs recorded with friends and family. Totally different from anything else he ever did.

I love this one. Great collection of loud, abrasive songs with some gorgeous country-tinged ballads. "Nothing Clings Like Ivy" has a strong effect on me every time I listen to it

He played with Ornette Coleman for a while and the Liberation Music Orchestra. So he could get pretty out-there. But there's also a very gentle and warm side to his music. He was also the father of Rachel and Petra Haden, and father-in-law to actor Jack Black.

Agree!
When “A Boy Named IF” came out, I loved it right away.
And I remember feeling not that in love with an EC album since “The Delivery Man”.
Also, the “Club Date” dvd helped a ton.

I've sold more records than I've purchased in the last year. A trend I'd like to continue.

I guess that will be me at some point but my collection is still pretty small and not quite inconvenient yet

The Sound Of Vinyl is running another sale. I also had a few points from previous purchase.
Here's what my ticket looks like:

$15.00 $12.00 Elvis Costello This Year's Model (Remastered)
$15.00 $12.00 Patsy Cline Greatest hits (Marble White)
$15.00 $12.00 Chris Cornell No One Sings Like You Anymore
$15.00 Rolling Stones Honk
$ 00.00 Shipping
$ 03.96 Tax
$ 54.96 Total

This makes me feel way better about missing out on RSD this year.
