Having said that Radio City Music Hall is the worst venue I've ever been to for concerts.
NYC definitely has fantastic venues but also having so many in a small area can give it a bit of an advantage over some other large cities.
Absolutely enjoyed many a venue there and often repeat visits... no idea on #s but NYC stops alone:

Angel Orensanz Center
Beacon Theatre
Bowery Ballroom
Brooklyn Academy of Music
Carnegie Hall
Grand Ballroom
Hammerstein Ballroom
Highline Ballroom
Irving Plaza
Le Poisson Rouge
Lincoln Center
Madison Square Garden
Nokia Theater
Radio City Music Hall
Terminal 5
Town Hall
Webster Hall/The Studio @
Village Vanguard

I think that's it, never got to the Barclays, Iridium, Merc or United Palace.

Indeed, I did not like Radio City at all.

Hell yeah! I've been to almost all of those. I think Village Vanguard and Highline are the only two I'm not familiar with.

Kings Theatre and Paramount (both in Brooklyn) are two other venues that I fucking adore!

Of those, been to the Beacon, Bowery, BAM, Hammerstein, Highline, Irving, Lincoln Center, MSG, Nokia, Terminal 5, Webster Hall, Barclays, and Mercury Lounge.

I have seen a few shows at the Forest Hills tennis center as well and had a great time at both shows. Bonus is all the shows have to be done in time for curfew so no excessively late evenings.

Saw Mogwai at the Limelight / Avalon, that was a fun venue, just from the aesthetics. I don't recall how it sounded for anything bc the band was so goddam loud
