Look, Dance did more to restore my faith that the band could take a positive trajectory than any song in the last 10 years…but RVM is the kind of song that made me a diehard fan to begin with. It’s the Nakatomi Tower of Pearl Jam songs.

In a weird way, these two songs are probably the most emblematic of the band's identity in their respective eras. The early days of angst and catharsis vs the latter days of semi-coherent lyrics and, well, dicks being rescued by excellent musicianship. WTF is a calendar floor.
