MD said you can't turn the Switch 2 on with a Switch 1 Pro Controller. That definitely sucks.

I'm aiming for:

-Switch 2 + MarioKart bundle
-Pro controller
-Survival Kids (for me and my daughter)
-A couple last-gen games (more below)

Questions for the pros:

1. Are there any other peripherals I should absolutely get out of the gate? I'm definitely scared of my kid dropping the thing while in handheld mode and wonder if there are protective cases or something? Not too worried about the camera right now, but what about headphones? Other peripherals?

2. Is the BOTW upgrade being sold as a "Switch 2" title that I need to order new, or can I buy a used copy of BOTW from the last gen and pay for the upgrade online?

3. There were a whole slew of Mario games for the last gen, and I'd like one. What's the best one that's closest in spirit to the original NES/SNES platform games? Are any of them easier for my kid to play than another?

1. Pro controller and screen protector should be more than enough.

2. Buy a used copy of either game (I'd recommend starting with Breath of the Wild) and buy the $10 upgrade separately.

3. Super Mario Wonder for 2D nostalgia/multiplayer fun and Super Mario Odyssey for the exploration/3D itch. Odyssey is great for kids because several of the moons are easy/fun to get.

Very expensive.

Walmart in the US has it for USD 449

Much fairer price.
