Every year there seems to be one big movie that is widely beloved that inspires in me a visceral and intense dislike. Recent examples have been The Substance, Poor Things, Everything Everywhere All At Once... this year it seems to be Sinners

The Substance was fucking awful.

Interesting with different opinions. A movie guy I follow on social media, has it as one of the top movies in the 2020s, and praised it to no end when it came out.

That's why I called it widely beloved

Im surprised on how much people in the US are loving the movie because i dont know a single soul who watch it or know that the movie exists here, but what im more shocked is that they claim this shitty movie was shot on Imax 70mm and 65mm and looks as blurry as my bedroom window after a huge storm in january.

Movie looks shitty as fuck guys. There are a few scenes were these ¨characters¨ are driving around and you can see the fucking backdrop being so fake, so bad lit its distracting. Everything is lit horrible and there is just no color whatsoever.

The DP has made a few of my least favorite movies in recent history with very very embarrassing results:

- The Last Showgirl: or how to stole everything from better movies without actually thinking
- Black Phanta 2 : Blurry, fake, no color whatsoever, horrible framing
- Mainstream: Unwatchable crap
- Palo Alto: Amateurish with no soul

Everyone else seemed to enjoy it.
