What did you decide, and how did “Mind Your Manners” influence your decision, other than giving your dog one more thing to need relief from?

Re: No Code: Official Album Thread
Baiiley had a swollen heart due to valve leakage - was diagnosed with it young and I was told this is what would eventually kill him. For most of his life there was no impact. But it became a problem at age 11. At that point he was regularly swollen with fluid and had to be drained of it. It was a quality of light decision - the draining was painful and offered diminishing relief.
I wasnt sure if it was worth putting him through it again. I had a conference to go to and planned to make the decision when I got back. I was gone for four days. my fear was he would die when I was away.
I made it home Sunday night and Bailey happily greeted me. The nect morning I took the girls to daycare and went to work. When I came home he greeted me again. I went in the kitchen to make dinner for the girls. I heard a yelp of shock and ran out to see what happened. He had died of a heart attack but lived long enough to say goodbye.

1 dog is worth more than infinite cats.
Kids I dunno. Dogs don’t talk back and as expensive as they can be with vet bills, they’re not college fee expensive.
Dump the cats and the kids and get a dog.
When you’re ready of course it can take a while.

Around the Bend is one of the band’s finest slow tunes ever

Re: No Code: Official Album Thread
have not listened to it and hopefully won't ever
but if I had to guess
would assume the track is marred by Ed's no longer functioning voice
lack of jack irons drumming
and crappier production qualities

Pretty spot on. There's absolutely no reason to ever listen to it.96583UP wrote:have not listened to it and hopefully won't ever

Honestly, since Brittany Davis covered Present Tense, I haven't been able to enjoy Pearl Jam's version.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I mean, I dig it. Slightly above the "novelty" category for me, a nice fresh alternate.
Won't replace the studio version (which is a 5-star song to me) but still wouldn't dismiss it before listening.

So, it’s the original present tense vocals from no code at the beginning, right? I really liked the first minute or so but then…

Re: No Code: Official Album Thread
yeah, for some reason they used that vocal and then use one from Ed now. Super weird.
Its still a nice nugget.
