Yes, but don't forget there was a global pandemic and a writers strike. Not to mention how much time it takes to grow fields of rare rye and build practical effects.

True, but man it just seems so short sighted that outside of the absolute top tier (like Andor) it becomes so easy to forget a show even exists until the week before it starts

Streaming has compartmentalized us so much, and has ironically trained audiences to be terribly incurious. Disney in particular chases pre-release hype more than anything now, because that is what triggers people to subscribe so that is where the money is made. If a project sucks and sinks, that’s OK because they’ve already started the pre-hype for the next project. It’s a business model that will always favor Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi over good, quality storytelling.

It’s a wonder something like this show even got made.

Honestly, dumb luck and fear. While I was lamenting the time between the announcement and finale. S1 was too far into production to justify cancelling it despite the lukewarm/bad response to everything post Mando S1. And since season 2 was already confirmed, I think they realized they would have absolutely killed the brand of Star Wars, possibly entirely, if they didn't let this finish.

It's easy to accept a lore heavy mediocre show like Ahsoka, or a clearly done on the cheap Obi-Wan if you still have faith they can do something well. If you don't have that? A lot more people are just going to give up on the franchise than already have.

I pay €2 a month for Disney+ for 8 months and €10 after. That’s pretty much dollar equivalent. It’s obviously in trouble if they’re pitching that low and show like Andor which is insanely expensive to make. How are they making any money at all?

To McPs point it’s a fair one but the meat and reward of Star Wars is lightsabers and Jedi. It isn’t a story about a spy in the rebellion, however well it’s written.
People go to Star Wars to escape. Not to get real world problems shown back at them in the galaxy far far away. Just to confirm their biases or anything.

Gonna be interesting to watch how they navigate the next few years.

Other than Kanan/Ezra, I think virtually anything involving lightsabers is the least interesting stuff in 40 years. Holding on to something that was magical and new 40 years ago just for the momentary cheap thrill, and making that the "meat and reward" of your franchise instead of focusing on a good well written story, is how you get the Acolyte.

Don’t disagree but what are the audience there for? All ages.

And I didn’t love it either but the Acolyte was beautifully made and had amazing Jedi / force lore and even lightsabers. Nobody liked it cos the leads and cast were black and female, let’s be honest. The ugly part of the internet dictated and won. It’s a damn shame it isn’t being given a follow up. Think it had more eyes on it than even Andor has I’ll try find the numbers

The Acolyte definitely had some parts that were beautifully made, and looked cool. And I agree a lot of the backlash was disingenuous. But it was written horribly. Red shirt Jedi took all the stakes out of what should have been the coolest scene. Lack of real development for Jord or Jecki was a wasted opportunity. killing the Wookie Jedi off screen. And perhaps most egregiously was the almost slapstick way they handled Sol just about to tell the story... Like 4 times.

There were elements of the show that had potential but it was executed horribly. And kind of goes to what I was saying... The Jedi and the lightsabers can't be the reward, it has to be the stories and the strength of characters.

Episode 10 "Make IT Stop"

The tension builds

Spoiler: show
RIP Luthen. I thought he would have to sacrifice himself for the cause in the end
RIP Lonni I understand why Luthen had to kill him but a harsh ending for the guy
A nice backstory for Luthen and Kleya
Were they on Naboo when Luthen let off the chargers???
I assume kleya isnt getting to Yavin
I did not predict Dedra being arrested
NO Cassian at all in this episode. BOBF haters are gonna hate

Regarding the planet you mentioned: I thought the same thing, had a similar aesthetic. But it’s nice that it was left unnamed.

It’s just not enough. :( :( :( :(

There were a lot fewer fireworks than I was expecting but I guess that’s what Rogue One is for. It was a perfect way to end the series — Cassian lives on.

I can’t handle this being all we get.

10. For its Season 2 appearance, Andor production returned to a relatively-unknown Naboo shooting location, Hever Castle in the District of Kent, England. In 1997, George Lucas filmed an ultimately deleted scene there, where Jedi Knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, with their Gungan companion Jar Jar Binks, enter the Theed Royal Palace grounds after escaping a dangerous waterfall.

Did not want this to end. What a beautiful way to do it though.

Going straight into Rogue one now

And lads? Let the final credits play. The music. You’ll be so glad you did :)

Watching rogue one. It completely changed my perception of it as you’re watching it from Cassians point of view now, rather than Jyns.
