We got DtE both nights in Raleigh. The first night was the full video. The second night was something else, maybe what you are referring to. I also would like to know what that is from.
The "hype guy" behind Mike is Josh Klinghoffer.
It's from HBO's "Spawn".
i thought i saw todds work in the anime but wasnt sure
i am assuming this was josh's first tour? i havent seen the since '13
I thought the sound was great both nights. I'm not sure but I wouldn't be surprised if the kids were josh Shapiro's, I think I saw the top of his head side stage on mikes side
Also 2023 tour was short, I'm sure subject to this extreme TM gouging (which the band should refuse) and they still opened that one up. The extra spots that would go to back catalogue songs go to DM instead. Ed made a point of pointing this out last night, subtlety.

Josh has been touring with the band since 2022, playing additional keys, guitar and percussion.
He played drums on some shows in 2022 and 2023 when Matt was sick.
On 18 March 2024, he killed Israel Sanches, a 47 year old pedestrian, while allegedly driving distracted, subsequently being charged with vehicular manslaughter.

Based on comments from Ed I think this is his last tour
pity Josh didn't do jail time could have been deep inspiration for his poetry slam career

What if Josh was surfing RM when he hit that guy? Desperately scrolling for affirmation that he was indeed pulling off the role of hype guy for Pearl Jam.
Josh lost in thought bc peeps didn’t even acknowledge his stellar triangle work on future days then BAM into a human

Anyway... if this was the final Pearl Jam concert, it was not a bad way to go out, minor complaints aside. The band certainly gave it all they had in the tank and what more could we ask for?

My nephew (in college) and brother-in-law both went to their first PJ show on Sunday and were both blown away by the show and how good they sounded...neither is more than a casual fan but both said it's the best show they've ever seen lol. Now they want to go see more shows. I mean, it's easy to get jaded if you've been following them for decades but there's a reason they play a fair number of "hits" each night.

Wait, why would this be the last PJ concert?
Because they’re old motherfuckers?
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

Gotcha. I thought maybe I'd missed some major news

Ed said something like 'when we return behind the microphone in a year or two'
That's a lot of time for things to go south
