Reflux. Heart burn. What sets yours off?

Post by dimejinky99 »

As per title.
What are the foods that come back to haunt you after you’ve eaten them?
Do you know going in you’re gonna regret it and do it anyway?
And why? And what are your best remedies for when it happens?

Enlighten us. Especially if you have remedies.

Most common triggers:

-Too much alcohol and food
-More than two hot dogs
-Sundried Tomatoes
-White Pizza / Garlicky Ricotta

All of these other than Sundried tomatoes I would still just go for it if in the mood

Favorite Remedy:

-Slug some Pepto Bismol. Works pretty immediately. And tastes delightful

I miss the days when I could eat and drink whatever I wanted with no consequences. These days, red sauce or beef is to be avoided.

it’s usually peanut butter on its own, or if I add it to oatmeal.

they don’t serve peanuts in bars here anymore, and even if did I wouldn’t touch a one. too many nasty mofos not washing their mitts would be jamming handfuls into their mouths. no thanks.

Dead right.
I wasn’t being funny with that. I worked in bars for years and we don’t do that here. Going the states and seeing that on the bar was weird. No harm in it either other than bob on the next seat scratching his ass and then getting peckish.

Oddly, spicy stuff doesn’t really bother me that much.

Any meat sauce or tomato sauce, generally.

Doesn't stop me from eating pizza though.

White pizza or white pie is a style of pizza that does not use tomato sauce. The pizza generally consists of pizza dough, olive oil, garlic, cheese, salt and, sometimes, toppings including vegetables such as spinach, tomato, and herbs.

yeah it is pretty tasty

a lot of places tend to overload it with (way) too much garlic which is what puts it into the heartburn zone

but it’s the kind of thing where once you have a bite, really hard not to just keep going :haha:
