I've always felt cameos were referential, either to established lore/character or general celebrity.

They do. There’s usually a winking, referential element to cameos, either because the person is widely recognizable or because the moment is narrowcasted to people in the know (like fans of the game spotting the creator playing one of the villagers). Tony Dalton showing up in a small role is just a working actor at work.@SkitchP wrote:I was wrong based on the definition.Jorge wrote:That definition is kind of imprecise. Apologize to Tony Dalton and Joey Pants for implying they’re not widely recognizable enough to be considered a cameo

You mean like was it a coincidence that they played it live less than an hour after the scene aired?

Last week I wondered aloud if Eddie survived the apocalypse and Lightning Bolt was still released in this timeline. I think there’s a non-zero chance now that we’re supposed to think that Joel wrote it? It’s just a weird creative choice.Bi_3 wrote:Simple Torture wrote:I only have more questions about Future Days now.

Re: HBO: The Last of Us
lightning bolt dropped on october 15th, 2013, meaning future days would've likely been recorded at least half a year or so prior. the below timeline states the infection didn't reach the US til september of 2013, and came via south/central america, so texas - where joel lived - was hit early. earlier than seattle, LA, new york, etc (where records generally come from)... since in the below timeline, it appears the infection hit denver in late 2013 or 2014. so i'd say it's plausible lightning bolt got out there pre total US infection and joel discovered it at some point.Simple Torture wrote:Last week I wondered aloud if Eddie survived the apocalypse and Lightning Bolt was still released in this timeline. The TV show pushes the timeline back 10 years, so the outbreak starts in 2003, not 2013.spike wrote:lightning bolt dropped on october 15th, 2013, meaning future days would've likely been recorded at least half a year or so prior. the below timeline states the infection didn't reach the US til september of 2013, and came via south/central america, so texas - where joel lived - was hit early. earlier than seattle, LA, new yotk, etc... especially when it appears the infection hit denver in late 2013 or 2014. so i'd say it's plausible lightning bolt got out there and joel discovered it at some point.Simple Torture wrote:Last week I wondered aloud if Eddie survived the apocalypse and Lightning Bolt was still released in this timeline. It's worth every show having a Nikki and Paulo episode to stop this trend.Simple Torture wrote:You’re not used to 7-episode seasons?Bi_3 wrote:I didn’t realize that was the finaleSimple Torture wrote:Season finale is just lighting up the board today, huh?
