This is well well worth your time. Interview with Denise Gough before andor came out.
She’s had an *insane* life. And survived it all. Moving inspirational stuff

Denise Gough is a double Olivier Award winning actress having blown away critics in the plays People, Places and Things and Angels in America, but before seeing her name in lights, Denise was a homeless drug addict begging on Shaftesbury Avenue. This is her account of her remarkable story of change, from a small town in Ireland to being one of the most in demand actresses today. That success includes starring alongside Keira Knightly in Collette, giving a phenomenally powerful performance in a psychological crime drama Too Close on ITV with Emily Watson and this summer becoming an even bigger star in the new Star Wars series Andor. Denise’s story is one of tragic revelations from her childhood in Ireland, where she grew up with 10 brothers and sisters, coming to terms with the experiences that she lived through and ultimately now owning her past and using it to be able to touch people through her acting today.

Should I watch Andor? Would I like it?
Here's where I stand on Star Wars

I like:
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
Rogue One
The Force Awakens
The Last Jedi

I do not like:
Solo
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
The Rise of Skywalker

No strong feelings about:
A New Hope
Kenobi

I haven't watched:
Anything else

Think you’d really love it Jorge.
Heads up. The first three eps of season one are a bit slow. Just stick with them.

It goes crazy after that and gets to the good stuff.

If you liked Rogue One, I think you should watch it.

I think you’d like it. It’s really not like anything else Star Wars-wise. I think you’d really appreciate it.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

I think a much better gauge would be, how do you feel about The Bourne movies and Michael Clayton? How do you feel about the TV show The Americans?

Andor is a dense, character-driven political thriller. There's not really much "Star Wars" about it outside of recognizable iconography. I think you would like it, certainly far more than the Prequels and other SW TV.

It has a lot of the usual "problems" that Star Wars content tends to have, but no one notices because the writing is solid, the actors are brilliant, the direction is exact, the tone is gritty and grounded, and it's not 7 seasons. And those are fanboi concerns. Andor isn't interested in your level of Star Wars fandom. You don't need to have seen anything else to appreciate it.

And while I never think this sort of thing should factor into one's interest in these things, I won't be surprised if it gets a ton of awards love when the time comes. If nothing else, it might be worth checking out just to be part of the conversation. But, again, that's all secondary to the level / quality of storytelling.

Considering his landing delayed my flight today by 45 minutes I would very much welcome a dig at him, I don’t think this is any deeper than “small hand funny”

New from 404 Media: the CIA secretly ran a Star Wars fan website. Was part of the network of sites the CIA used to communicate with sources. Iran discovered the network, imprisoned people. Later dozens died in China after exposed
