Man, people are losing their shit online about snape being black and about the skin tone of the actress playing hermione. It sucks but i wouldn’t subject my kid to that if she was my kid. Look what happened to Bella Ramsey. People fucking suck

Re: HBO: Unnamed Harry Potter Series
The issue with Snape's casting is that has the feel of an attempt to force modern American racial dynamics into the story that were largely absent from the books/movies. Snape is in love with Harry's mom and abused and bullied by Harry's dad. Ostracized and distrusted by everyone. These are defining plot points in the story and there is no way that today's audiences will not see racial undertones there if Snape is black, which means it was a conscious decision to insert them. Sometimes that works out like in Watchmen and other times not so much. It won't stop me from watching, but it's disappointing to think that the producers felt it was a good idea to change things up in that way and does not bode well for what else they might think needs updating... like I would guess Dumbledore's sexuality will be an explicit plot point as well.E.H. One can't help but weep bitter tears over the unspeakable hell they endure at every waking moment, as they undoubtedly have people on the internet saying how punchable their faces are.

They’re advocating for hitting children now.
They want to punch kids. Their words.
Didn’t take long did it?

We definitely should not be punching any children, regardless of how punchable their faces may be!

Re: HBO: Unnamed Harry Potter Series
I'd say they'll be fine regardless of a few mean posts on the internet, but child stars don't exactly have a stellar track record of becoming functioning adults. But that's due more to actual real things, like having shitty parents, running into sex predators in Hollywood, or drugs and alcohol.

Very true.
Daniel Radcliffe ended up totally fine and thriving. So, maybe this new kid has a shot, too.

Burt what have you done now
Just in: Texas' former solicitor general has left the AG's office amid sex misconduct allegations and a lawsuit outlining his apparent, months of detailed disclosures to colleagues about his sexual obsession with watching an asteroid anally rape the agency's No. 2 attorney in front of his kids.

Pretty sure exposure to massive amounts of public discourse about you is an actual real thing and it can lead to some of the other things you mentioned like drugs and alcohol. Many public figures (and former public figures) who started young have talked about the toll it takes. It seems to be getting worse and worse now.

They should replace the children with CG, like they do with animals now.

Doesn't have to be a fully CGI kid. They could perfect de-aging technology to the point where you could hire a grownup to believably portray a child

Seems like the Brits handle fame and exposure way better than Americans. Being an actor specifically (and the culture around fame) is so different there than here. Or at least that's how it SEEMS to me. Maybe that's not true at all.

Yeah, I mean look at what Bella R. has suffered from Last of Us. The dislike is not just present, but celebrated. Makes me root for her.

Could be. But I do know British tabloids are the scum of the Earth.
