Pretty sure the punchline is “can you believe HBO paid me for this?”

I have two left and this thing is just so good; bonkers really.

The ep with the very shy pilot and the 5 couples acting ? The pack? Haha just too good

i couldn't get into s1 of the rehearsal, but it was recommended to try to watch at least the first few eps of the superior s2. what a wild ride so far, i haven't laughed this hard in awhile.

Finally look at season 2 last night. Watched the first four and a half episodes, gonna finish the rest tonight. Holy cow this is sooo good. I was hesitant about elements of season one, in that it was a bit mean-spirited I felt at times, but this season is just tremendous

Ep 3 of season 2 was some kind of masterpiece
Just watched this one and holy hell yes. Part of me hates that these seasons are only 6 episodes, but i'm not sure it's healthy to consume much more.

, so it's all in service of that instead of actually paying off on its own terms. Like I wish there were a secondary, aviation-specific punchline in addition to the larger, thematic one. For me, the season felt a little listless and meandering because that element is missing.
nah, that's the punchline of the last two episodes

the punchline of the whole season is
Spoiler: show
that Nathan is still up there flying. What he says at the end ("if you're in the cockpit, you must be fine because they only let the smartest best people do this") is obviously the opposite of true. Nathan doesn't want to know his diagnoses because it could endanger his flying, pilots don't disclose mental health struggles because it could endanger their career. The punchline of the season is that there is no payoff to all this, at least not on screen. The punchline of the season is if it results in any changes regarding pilot communication and training. And the fact that that doesn't happen on screen is the punchline of the element of the show that Mecca mentioned (can you believe HBO paid for all this). The joke is that Nathan is sincere in his desire to change aviation policy and pilot culture.

I thought the season was great up until the finale. I was pretty underwhelmed by how it wrapped up.
