My nemesis apparently got a letter of commendation sent to the district office this morning by a literal crazy, dangerous man and she has been giddily reading it out loud and calling people to read it to them all morning. The guy is literally stalking his ex and my nemesis apparently told the stalked person in public when they were all together to calm down or something. I would be ashamed to get praise from this guy but she is giddy about it. I can't listen to this shit. I hate my nemesis
Obviously, she’s better at her job than you and her getting the attention she deserves is a serious blow to your ego. Additionally, it only serves to increase your desire for her on a sexual level.

No!

In fact, the other thing she has been yammering on about for the last two days is a mistake another co-worker made. My boss came in and the two of them were yammering about for a while. They started to settle on a fix that was messier than the original problem, just compounding it. I jumped in and fixed the whole thing in three minutes

I'll take this abuse from you, wease, but only because it is fair seeing as how I routinely give you a hard time in this thread for the laughs. No one else better try to abuse me

So here’s a long story with a thankfully happy ending. I failed the PMP exam twice. Both times were gut punches — not just because of the time and money invested, but because I had to face the reality that I wasn’t as prepared as I thought I was. I had studied, read the PMBOK Guide, and even taken a prep course.

The first failure stung, but I brushed it off. The second one nearly convinced me to give up.

The third time, I approached the material differently. I stopped trying cramming and joined a study group, worked through situational questions relentlessly, etc etc. When I finally passed, it wasn’t just a relief — it was a moment of genuine pride.

But in the end, I got a raise and some new responsibilities at work so it all worked out :D

“Another co-worker?” It was nice that you “jumped in and fixed” a problem you created. What other mistakes of yours is she going to find? Her star is on the rise, my friend.

So I got that job. Pending Garda vetting (police background check) and medical.
The former will be no problem. The latter I’m worried about but should be ok.

Pensionable civil service job here I come. ‘A pensionable and necessary evil’.

Thanks pal.

In limbo until the police check comes back. It can take up to a couple of months but whatever way the law is here you need a police background check if you’re applying for almost anything but especially government / civil service jobs.
Get there soon enough hopefully.

It's more the turns of phrase and sentence structure for me. People do use em dashes. Some of them get formatted that way automatically. But certain turns of phrase aren't just a tell — they are a moment of genuine reckoning.

At that point, it’s not just a tell, it’s a confession. A turning point. A soul leak.

That’s a legitimate worry until you step back and go why would they? Unless they were in much much worse trouble than that backpack hat time with 100k of drugs in it and even though arrested somehow wasn’t charged for it.

They must have done something much worse.
But happy days no such consequences
