"The Ugly Stepsister"
I liked it a lot, as a person who sometimes finds body horror in particular too much; I expected more of it, given the reviews I've seen, so maybe you'll be disappointed if you wanted the gnarliest movie of all time, but for me there is just enough to serve the story
the titular central performance is pretty astounding, it was easy to empathise with her, and I think the movie does an excellent job of examining the way patriarchy's expectations (and privileges) affect different women in the Cinderella story

"The Surrender"
I don't know how to describe this one, but I loved it; what begins as a family psychodrama (sad and dark but warmly funny at times, too) escalates into occult ritual madness, I don't get scared often but this one did it and I've no doubt in my mind that it's because it had done so well to make me care about the characters initially
Shudder is actually killing it lately, after giving us nothing much for too long

Im not a fan of the first one but this looks like a mix between the best part of that movie and Nightmare On Elm Street.

Even my wife who generally avoids horror I don't make her watch thought it looked very cool.

Me too. This is a really smart trick to giving the writing and timeline some space to breathe while keeping the Xenomorphs true to the movies.

That does look good. I probably would have watched it even if it looked bad, but now I'm excited.

Re: TVG Presents: All Things Horror.
"Sinners" could have had a bit of its runtime shaved off, particularly in the first half, but otherwise I loved it and regret renting it instead of just going ahead and buying; here's the review I wrote straight after seeing it:
well, "Sinners" was a LOT to take in and I know I'm going to have to watch it again, but I'm pretty sure I loved it, right from the intro about the power of music to reach through generations past and future, and raise the dead; a neat thesis, neatly played out; cyclical story-telling through music, metaphor and motif, properly rooted in folk magic traditions (Irish Filí draíocht ceoil, African American Rootwork) and their relationship with Christianity as a colonizing force
I love it when apparently jarring genres are woven seamlessly together to tell stories (hi, Sleep Token fan here!), and this was period drama / family saga, Blues and Folk movie, musical theatre, horror / magical realism, action, and even found time for a little comedy and camp to bring levity at times (it doesn't always take itself 100% seriously, yet -- and this must be the talent of Ryan Cooglar -- it still felt profound and emotional, and still made me cry more than once)
like all my favourite "horror" films, it'll go deeper the more I think about it, and the "monsters" (which I'd heard from detractors "appear out of nowhere") feel absolutely inevitable by the end
