I've grown to love Futures perhaps even more than Bleed American (Clarity will always be tops for me). It's like a deceptively mature album. Nightdrive & 23 make for a hell of a closing pair.Soma. wrote:They were a pretty big deal to me growing up. Well, Clarity and Bleed were big deal.

I love Petty as much as anyone but his albums have a lot of filler. Except Wildflowers...maybe the first one too.

There's not a filler track on Hard Promises but in general, yes he does like his filler.evenslow wrote:He's a fantastic artist but this is true.bada wrote:I love Petty as much as anyone but his albums have a lot of filler. Except Wildflowers...maybe the first one too.

For me personally it'd be 77 - More Songs About Buildings & Food - Fear of Music, but I'm probably in the vast minority by preferring 77 to Remain In Light. I bet most people would go More Songs About Buildings & Food - Fear of Music - Remain In Light.E.H. Ruddock wrote:The Talking Heads, but I can't decide which run of 3.

I'm leaning towards your choice. But really they had a pretty awesome run of 5 albums imo.Lament wrote:For me personally it'd be 77 - More Songs About Buildings & Food - Fear of Music, but I'm probably in the vast minority by preferring 77 to Remain In Light. Well, we all do, friend. Maybe "arguing like a whiny bitch" is just wanting to have a discussion.

Its definitely right there with them. Just an amazing stretch of music they had. And, I'm not even a big Stones fan.Lament wrote:Crazy thing is Beggars Banquet is every bit as good as those three.EJ wrote:This is probably the winner.Gods' Die wrote:Stones: Let it Bleed - Sticky Fingers - Exile on Main St

From the release of the Jumpin' Jack Flash single in May of 1968 until they released Angie (ugh) in August of 1973, they were just about perfect. Jumpin' Jack Flash - Beggars Banquet - Let It Bleed - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! - Sticky Fingers - Exile on Main Street. Holy shit.
