Bruce Springsteen

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

Cool!

I'm not well versed in Springsteen lore at all, so I'm wondering: did people know these albums existed, they just have never been released? (a la Neil Young's Chrome Dreams) Or are these all total surprises?
A mix of both.

The 1983 stuff leaked decades ago, you can find it all on YouTube.

He's been teasing the 90s stuff since the 90s. North Of Nashville was recorded at the same time as Tom Joad if I'm remembering correctly.

The rest is a complete surprise for me! Good day to be a Bruce fan.

Really excited about this release. The cohesion of putting together actual 'albums' is fantastic to me with the timeframe of 1983-2018 clearly incorporated in Tracks '79-'95 stretch. The footage looks a bit from the Blood Brothers doc which is an era that was obviously quiet and I know you mentioned wasn't remarked on much in the autobiography but intrigues me greatly.

It's great that the set starts with '83 and that was the final year included in the Lost Masters bootlegs and also after anything we have gotten with The Promise and The Ties That Bind released with the reissues.

Tomorrow's playlist will definitely be Springsteen heavy...
It will be fascinating. When I finally listened to Tracks, it blew my mind that I liked the 90s stuff on there more than anything else he’d released that decade. He has a narrative he wants to present and not even better songs are going to disrupt that. Interesting always to hear what he hasn’t released.
I'm also a big fan of that 90s stuff on Tracks. Most of it is a lot better than Human Touch.

I see a bunch of the songs from the '83 album are strewn through the last three Lost Masters discs in various iterations. Will certainly be interesting to hear how he puts them together for a final product, new instrumentation, new vocals, etc. which he has done with some of the tracks on the collections released with the reissues.

Serious Rising vibes but the post-production lands in the Wrecking Ball arena with mid-90s Boss vox, quite interesting.

Just started it, the first album took some time trying to recall what I had already heard and possible differences.

I got through mostly the first six and one more car ride will likely get me through the rest. Very hard to really talk about on the first listen. So far mostly preferred Somewhere North of Nashville and the Western Stars sequel. Least preferred Inyo. Mostly everything is pretty good so far. Repo Man and Delivery Man are both great.

The Nashville one is closest in resemblance to Devils & Dust. Disc 6 whatever that is called is the Western Stars sequel, and the last album which I heard last night is a hodge podge, but a very good one until the last two songs that I didn’t care for. I would have to listen to all of these a bunch more times, but overall this is a really phenomenal release, even if I would want at least some more of an energy jolt in some of these lost albums.

Is each disc an "lost" album or is it all scattered about?

Each is an individual lost album that has its own unique sound.

This one should have been released. Some really good stuff throughout. The guitar in One Beautiful Morning was straight out of Last to Die.
