Yeah, those cards look great. There's even a Suplex card.

I'm sure they'll sell out quickly at my shop, but I'm saving up gems on Arena for the mastery pass. That'll net me a good collection for the season.

I asked chatGPT to plan a diet for me based on some Ravnica Guilds. I'm not really a Golgari guy, but I like this food philosophy.

Code: Select all

Golgari Diet Philosophy (Green/Black)

"Life from death. Power from decay."

Golgari eating is:

Rooted in the cycles of nature

Unfussy, deeply nutrient-aware

Often built around fermented, foraged, or functional foods

Resilient and scrappy — leftovers, off-cuts, compost-based gardening, ancient grains, bone broths, pickled stuff

Think: peasant food turned powerhouse.

---

Golgari-Inspired Full Day Menu (Lean, Powerful, Real)

Breakfast – “Revival Bowl”

Steel-cut oats

Chopped walnuts + dried figs

Dollop of Greek yogurt

Drizzle of molasses or blackstrap syrup (iron + minerals)
Dark, earthy energy for sustained focus

---

Lunch – “Regrowth Plate”

Wilted kale or collards with garlic + olive oil

Lentils or black beans

Roasted beets + sweet potatoes

Fermented kraut or kimchi on the side
Gut-powered fuel, fiber-heavy and blood-friendly

---

Dinner – “Cycle of Strength Stew”

Bone broth or veggie broth base

Shredded chicken, mushrooms, onions, and barley

Add bitter greens (like dandelion or arugula) near the end

Serve with a chunk of dense rye or sprouted toast
Immunity, strength, and rooted recovery

---

Snack Options – “Undergrowth Boosters”

Pickled veggies + olives

A boiled egg and radishes

Cottage cheese with turmeric + black pepper

A spoon of almond butter and cacao nibs

---

Golgari Eating Vibe:

You’re eating what lasts, heals, and empowers

You use the whole plant/animal, honor leftovers, minimize waste

Every bite is fuel with function — nothing shallow, nothing empty

Nice. None of it will be worth it if he doesn't pull an Instant Ramen artifact.

My coffee shop/card store was sold out before they even opened yesterday. I guess all their inventory went during the pre-release.

I have skipped UB products before that I wasn’t interested in (Assassin’s Creed was the last one), and I’m not a Final Fantasy guy, so I’ll be skipping this set. Excited for both Edge of Eternities and Spider-Man later this year, though.

Kinda surprising that you're not a FF guy

It was a Super Nintendo and then a PlayStation series, right? I never had either of those. I remember watching someone play FF7 at their house when I was like 13 but never got a turn. I tried playing it on my PS4 a few years ago but never got into it. Maybe someday! But I’ll certainly try some of the cards out on Arena.

I think it’s the right mix of playing them at a formative age and 6,7,8,9,10, 12, & Tactics being great games that puts the series so high on my list

I saw that there’s a remaster of 1-6 on current gen systems, and that sort of intrigued me, but it’s pretty expensive for 8-bit remasters.

I've been playing 6 on my Pixel phones for years. Maybe longer than I actually played the original game!

It's a GREAT phone game. The combat works well and the music on phone speakers sparks joy.

The FF set doesn’t interest me.

If you are at all curious about their mechanics, Arena has a free constructed event going on for the next day or so. Access to all cards from the set.

I'm playing with an Izzet deck that has a synergy with 4x Barret and 4x Obnoxious Octopus spells.

Barret is a 4 drop red card with good damage. Obnoxious Octopus puts a stun counter on target creature every time you cast a 4 drop card.

Good times.

Edge of Eternities cards are starting to be revealed, and I like these a lot:

Interesting to see how this space theme pans out. Is it considered a new plane or something else?

Speaking of lands -- there's too much landfall mechanic in the FF set.

(Says the guy currently trying to grind arena gold from red deck wins by turn 4)

Yes, I’m interested in the mechanics, not so much the theme. There was a card I was wanting to take a look at but forgot what it was. I’ll have to look through scryfall
