But.
Given the state of things, is there a situation in which it makes more practical sense to ask the trans identified student to use the alternate facility instead of asking like a large group of objectors to? Is it better, like with racial integration, to have school admins and teachers try and force the situation over the objections of students or should they consider the alternative even if it means contributing to the sense of alienation in the student with identity issues?
You should read up on what jk Rowling has planned. She’s hiring teams of men to go patrolling toilets to make sure the people in there are in the ‘correct’ toilet and if they find a trans man or woman in the ‘wrong’ toilet they’re going to take pictures of them and spread them online and on a website she’s building for the purpose and identifying the person and where they’re from and work etc
So imagine an ICE but looking for trans people. And she has the billions to do it and gave no come back whatsoever of anyone has ‘an unfortunate’ encounter with one of her agents.
People are going to get seriously hurt or worse. This is where all this bullshit and hysteria is leading. And there’s absolutely no need for it whatsoever.

JK Rowling says to photograph women in toilets just in case they’re transgenderIn response, Rowling said that policing trans people in public toilets can be handled, “Quite easily, really. Decent men will stay out, as they always have, so we can assume all who don’t are a threat, given their disregard for women’s and girls’ safety, privacy and dignity. Photographing, reporting and disseminating such men’s images online will be a piece of cake.”

And presumably the men doing so would have to be in the ladies toilets to take them

Re: Transgender Rights
I don't quite get the argument of the invalidity or dismiss-ability of something just because it's a "social construct". All of human history is comprised of social constructs. The very law that someone would use to establish their rights as this or that identity is a social construct (law) trying to create a social construct held in place by coercive force (rights) in order to keep another social construct (identity) comfortable and and feeling validated.
The very statement that an identity should be socially acceptable or even embraced/normed is a social construct.
All I'm saying is that picking an choosing which social constructs gets to boss the other social constructs around is basically the definition of all human conflict (unless there's a food/shelter shortage--but even then borders and territory are another social construct). So while it's easy to post a picture of a mushroom cloud and act like bickering over social constructs was a distraction that kept us from saving the world from it's real problems, I think that's a fundamentally flawed stance because war is simply the final escalation of a long (or short) series of power struggles over who gets to be in charge and tell other people how to live.
Anyway, thought I'd squeeze in one more use of social construct.

He posted an article that quotes JK's tweet. You can say the tweet is fake. You can say those that wrote the article made it up. You can say dime misconstrued something. You can argue any of those things and provide evidence to back up you claim.Bi_3 wrote:Because he made it up.blueviper wrote:I would read up on it, but I haven't found anything regarding this news item.dimejinky99 wrote:

In general it’s the person making the accusation (“Rowling is doing X”) that has to prove the accusation is true, but I’ll play along here. I am not claiming the tweet is fake. It’s real. It’s common knowledge that Rowling opposes trans people in women’s spaces. What I am saying above is that the accusations in the quoted post above, starting with ‘she’s hiring teams of men…’ are made up and are not supported by either the Rowling tweet or the accompanying article. The reason you cannot find any information on google about these teams of hired dick inspectors and the website Rowling is making is because they are not real. If something is not real, it is by definition made up.

Oh dear Bi
Of all the people to run to the defence of, Jk Rowling? Jesus Christ
I didn’t make anything up, she’s funding several ‘terf’ groups and organisations to wage her little war and undertake the ‘dick inspections’ as you so eloquently put it. She’s also funding the legal defense of anyone she agrees with who has run afoul of the actual law, if she disagrees with whatever law, be it libellous or physical harm.
I’m not your mom and am not here to spoon feed you or play your online rage bait agitator bullshit game. We get it. You’re not ‘far right’ anti fuckin everything you don’t like, not at all you’re really balanced and just like spirited debate (HHHAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAA)
But you’d want to put up a better defense than the school yard bullshit you’re currently doing. When it’s so easily taken apart.
