After watching the first few episodes of this season, I couldn’t help comparing this show to Seinfeld in the oddest way. I’ve heard many people over the years opine that about 50% of Seinfeld episodes wouldn’t work if there were cell phones because a quick call could solve nearly all of their problems. The Bear is sort of the opposite but also sort of the same? The characters spend so much time looking at their phone screens that the show really wouldn’t be the same without it, their connectedness at all times is a real essential piece of the fabric of the show. But you’re right, they could also solve their problems if they’d just fucking pick up. I’d love to see someone crunch the numbers, I bet at least 2/3 of calls on the show are not answered.
It’s super noticeable. We’re through 6 eps, but last night, not having read these posts yet, I said to my wife, “No one ever answers their phone.” The odd exception was Syd answering an unknown number that kept trying to call. Sure, answer that, but if it says Dad, stare for a few seconds, then tap the red button and go back to slicing carrots.

I can’t remember, but have they ever addressed when Carmy and Will Poulter work out for hours a day?

Working in a kitchen and probably never eating for anything more than what fuels your body and cigarettes will give you that same physique

I’ve only watched the first three episodes so far and it’s borderline intolerable.

I adore seasons 1 and 2 and most of season 3 (including what was probably the series' single best episode). This season learned nothing from the mixed reviews season 3 got and, in fact, seems to be leaning into what was criticized. It's excruciating at times. They needed a much more ruthless editor.

Love the music but it feels much more "obvious" this season (like "hey, listen to THIS song, you guys! can you believe the quality of these mic drops?") probably because what's onscreen has been so poor in comparison.

I hope the season finale ends in an ICE raid, because there's no way this Will Poulter character has authorization to work in the US

aww, they're playing the Eddie song again

"Hold my hand while I cum" really hits emotionally within the context of the show

Jorge and Trag need to weigh on this season ASAP. The rest of you like everything and cannot be trusted.

Through 8 eps and I like it a lot. I don’t know what people want from this show. The only thing that could make it better for me is if Claire Bear gets her eyebrows seen to. She reminds me so much of the Seinfeld two-face girl.

I :heartbeat: Sugar. Brie Larsen was outshined, outshined, outshined by her so much in ep 7.

Claire Bear is stunning. Leave her alone.

Yeah they are so obvious. Probably because they have them for good money to use them, but this season is also a disaster on how they used them.

Heading to ep 7 tonight

Connected unintentional points

But every kitchen and every chef in the world is snorting about half a kilo of coke every week.

Maybe that’s the scene they’re saving for the very final shot. Carmy doing a mountain range of coke in the freezer and running back out to the kitchen.

It would explain his constant high strung stress that has no basis in the storyline the thing we’re all wondering wtf is wrong with the guy?

And oasis. Cis they love coke too

It felt like a midseason finale of a show breaking its last season into 2 parts

Saw ep 7, that was a very looong one fill with nothing at all. The table scene was embarrassingly bad and boring.
