The ending leaked online already. But Marvel did re-shoot the ending but from what I hear it was just moving some characters around in the final scenes. This series of events should still remain at the end but Marvel has swerved us before.wease wrote:How do we know this part?Stickman wrote:I suspect he'll be a post credit. The trailers are getting slightly better but I just cannot stand that "FAN-TAS-TIC FOOOO-OOOO-OOOOOOUR" music.

This movie will be a flop. I’m shocked it’s getting a third go.

Re: Fantastic Four Are Coming to the MCU! (11/8/24)
Director Matt Shakman has confirmed that this version of the Fantastic Four exists on Earth 828, deliberately chosen to honor co creator Jack Kirby’s birthday—August 28th (8/28). This timeline choice positions the story within the Marvel Multiverse while paying homage to Kirby's legacy.
Jack Kirby (born Jacob Kurtzberg) was born on August 28, 1917, in New York City. A legendary comics creator, he co-created icons like the Fantastic Four, X Men, Silver Surfer, and many more.
• The designation Earth 828 is more than a mundane code—it’s a heartfelt Easter egg celebrating Kirby’s influence and birthdate.
• Setting the story on another earth allows Marvel to explore fresh narratives without being constrained by the main MCU continuity.
• Creatively, it signals that First Steps will chart its own path—distinct, respectful, and rooted in comic lore.

Exactly what I expected based on the trailers. It was fine. The whole thing felt sanded down and benign to the point I'm guessing a ton of stuff was cut out of this. Galactus was cool and the actors were good.

Also, there was some shockingly bad CGI in this.

Sean Fennessey described it as “limp” and “juiceless.”

Re: Fantastic Four Are Coming to the MCU! (11/8/24)
While watching this I felt this rising feeling of dread. Because honestly, the first 30-45 minutes of it are lovely, with Matt Shakman showing off many of the things I also loved about his previous MCU work WandaVision: sumptuous production design, warmth and subtlety in character interactions, and a tactile, atmospheric, lived-in world we'd never seen before. But the dread came because I could feel what was about to happen -- that much like WandaVision it was going to surrender to its worst impulses and gradually dissolve into banality, formulaic spectacle, and flat, uninspired filmmaking. I liked it better than the grey lump that was Thunderbolts, and both films ultimately represent an improvement from Marvel's recent projects, but I came out of the film feeling like it was a missed opportunity. Vanessa Kirby is the film's shining star.

I thought is was great. The best Marvel movie in a while. The only thing I didn’t like was the Thing beard. That was stupid.

Opened kind of soft, softer than Superman, with the worst internal multiplier in the history of the MCU. It won't be anything close to a flop but the market just isn't what it was in the 2010s, especially internationally.daft twat wrote:Might have to walk this one back. It's looking more and more like this is the new normal. Instead of expecting a billion, half a billion is probably the new mark. Budgets should be adjusted.
