What a thread

My pick is Cozy Powell
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

I posted about this elsewhere, and while I think it’s easy to see this as a joke or a cash grab, I can seriously see them having different drummers for different legs if a tour, or maybe for each run of shows. While this may not be ideal when it comes to rehearsals and consistency, it’d give them an opportunity to showcase friends and colleagues who might not otherwise be in bands.

If they ever record another album, I imagine they’ll have own drummer play on it, but I don’t think they’ll ever be considered a full member of the band—like I don’t think they’ll refer to that person as Matt’s replacement.

Could you imagine Gavin Harrison in Pearl Jam?

Me neither, but, it would be fascinating for a few.

Serious answer: Richard Stuverud
Less serious answer: Tommy Lee (the Ed fake out on Motley Crue was to get us off the scent - prepare for the rotating drum set)

I would love Richard S

but I feel like Ed snubbed him the first time around and would do it again

Matt Chamberlain seems like a candidate

but maybe he will say no again to PJ like he did the first time :haha:

If they do continue on with another drummer, I hope it's someone who's already established within the Pearl Jam lore. Anyone but Josh K (sorry Josh)

My order of preference would be:

Richard Stuverud
Matt Chamberlain
Dave Krussen

Jack Irons would obviously be amazing, but seems the least realistic given his reasons for leaving the band in the first place.

Primus did an open audition and it worked out great.
A life-long, local Louisiana musician got to live his dream.

I would definitely watch a Youtube series for this.
