I see the value of having some special release at Billy's teashop but I also can't agree more with Trees here.

Machina belongs to their old label right? I dont remember which one it was. I guess they will eventually make a wide release of it in some form.

Melissa Auf der Maur came out and played bass on "The Everlasting Gaze" during the encore of the Machines of God show in Montreal. Wtf. That's awesome.

machina reissue goes on sale tomorrow at 8am central at the teahouse site. 8xlp boxset combines machina I and II, and has 30-some odd bonus tracks, too. no idea what the cost will be yet. original machina I is getting lp/cd reissue as well.

Very cool but way out of my price range.

Hopeful that the Machina II material might make it to streaming, which would be nice.

Not a fan of Machina but in curious about the unreleased stuff, Billy always has amazing material there.

Yeah, I count at least 10 never-before-heard tracks in there. Unreal.

Kinda wish they were released 20 years ago though. I still love them but, you know...

Yeah, that was super underwhelming. That whole series is very hit-or-miss to me. The ones with the massive genre/generational differences are cool, but rock drummers pretending they don't know hit rock songs and then playing bare standard rock drums over said songs is boring.

The second verse (starting at around 9:42 in the video) was awesome. Cool cymbal and tom work, wouldn't exactly call it "bare standard rock drums," there's some finesse to it. Obviously the original track is better/more suitable but I like hearing these alternate takes.

I think the problem was the song choice. They kinda stitched him up. Jimmy's original part is so unique that the chances of playing four on the floor and having it sound interesting was always going to be low. The tom fill was kinda cool, but still pretty standard overall.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though.
