I just got over a cold and feel like another’s coming. Runny nose and general malaise setting in.

sounds like a plan

i got up early and did a bike ride on the beach

came back did some pool maintenance

then a quick trip to the beer store to stock up on supplies for the weekend

had home water meter replaced by utility company

went to war with the mosquitos on the side of my house with a bottle of clorox (non bleach) cleaning spray

must have killed like 50 of them

they will regenerate

but i will be back with more lemon scented death for them

we have a black-tie fundraiser tonight for the lincoln park zoo (outside no less, where it's supposed to be 90 degrees and super humid). i haven't tied a bowtie since before covid. it took me 2 hours (and multiple youtube tutorials). this is going to suck.

i once valeted an event at the national zoo when i was in high school. it was a humid swamp summer eve and people were getting out of the car in suits. they looked steamy when they returned

Rent a polar bear costume and really sock it to em. Even better if it’s a real polar bear skin and you can call that industry out too and make double the point. Bow tie crisis averted.

Power washed the patio with a new pressure washer, worked great. The one I brought over from the US kept shutting off through the step down transformer, so it was a long overdue clean. Outside looking good for visitors coming this week.
