I don’t even feel any ways compelled to watch the second half of this season.

You shouldn’t then. I stopped watching Andor season 2 after 4 or 5 episodes. Just wasn’t for me. I really love The Bear. Different strokes. Now get out of here and charm your way into the Dublin Oasis show.dimejinky99 wrote:I don’t even feel any ways compelled to watch the second half of this season.

Not the same thing though.
Andor had a storyline and a narrative.
The bear doesn’t at all.
Ok hold on. He owes a fella some money but won’t actually face any consequences if he doesn’t pay it
And some pretentious wanna be arty shots

The restaurant closing is a fairly big consequence. The show revolves around its very existence.

We’re only on the fourth episode (Syd’s) and I’ve not read anything in this thread yet, but goddamn, I’ll be making hamburger helper like this from now on.

That episode was amazing and Syd is a goddamn national treasure. Edebiri should get a second Emmy for this one.wease wrote:We’re only on the fourth episode (Syd’s) and I’ve not read anything in this thread yet, but goddamn, I’ll be making hamburger helper like this from now on.

I don't want to be Mr Hot Take but this season had far too much time dedicated to Syd.
She should've taken the other job, it would've made the show much more bearable.
I'd so much rather spend time learning more about Gary, Ebraheim, Marcus, the new crew from Ever, etc.

The kitchen crew was definitely sidelined big time, felt like Tina was in maybe one scene all season. I guess they had to dedicate time to the Beef side window eventually.Birds in Hell wrote:I don't want to be Mr Hot Take but this season had far too much time dedicated to Syd.

I think we’ll get plenty of them next season as the focus should be back on the machinations of The Bear kitchen as it’s handed over to Syd. Ultimately, this was a set up season I think.

I’ve had no desire to go back to this after watching the first three episodes a week or two ago.

Re: The Bear (FX/Hulu)
Finally started S4.
The first two episodes were really lovely. Solid work getting us back into the world and set up for what's to come. I love these characters so much.
Richie continues to walk away with every scene he's in.

To me, this show feels like a reality television show where no one knows they’re being filmed. I don’t care about the plot at all; I’m all in on the characters. It’s like nothing else on tv.

This season was much better than you bums were making it out to be. It's a bit too predictable and sentimental at times, but it always has been. I think Season 3 and 4 pair very nicely when viewed as a whole. I especially liked the Nat and Syd story arcs.

Re: The Bear (FX/Hulu)
This show is perfection.
I'm really going to miss it. And that's as it should be. Rare are the shows that last just long enough for us to demand more.
The penultimate episode a masterpiece. Just one of the best episodes of this exceptional series. I was a fucking wreck.
The final episode was surprising, but also lovely. A nice falling action to the climax of the episode before.
