early 90s i worked in the mail room of a claims company. there were two people that always butted heads and were assholes to each other. one of each sex. to other people they were descent enough.

well they got into it and she was screaming and he was just quietly egging her on by showing no emotion other than some subtle laughter and sarcasm.

she flipped him off and he told her to fuck off bitch. well this really set her off and she approached him. still flipping him off with both hands and raising her voice. she then made her first mistake by pushing him back while flipping him off. he calmly said, touch me again and i will break those fingers. so of course she did it again.

he grabbed both fingers and bent them to the side. not sure if they broke but there was damage. he walked away as though nothing happened.

she tried to press charges and get him fired but in front of so many people as witnesses nothing other than a warning was issued to both for touching each other

I’m all for a corny joke. It’s when you’re telling the same bad joke, or even trying to be funny 5x/day, and the only person laughing is you. That’s when I want to run into oncoming traffic.

Holy shit. We are only half an hour into the day after I was mildly vocally critical of how rude my coworker is to customers at the counter and I see a marked difference. He is actually standing up to work with customers instead of pretending that they don't exist and making me deal with literally everyone. And instead of greeting everyone with a rude/flat affect, he is talking like a normal human. He was rude to one guy already, but maybe he's getting there

What happened is that I had some issues with my medication and went through a really rough depressive episode. I’m getting it back under control now, but honestly I didn’t have the energy or focus to even sit down with my laptop. I feel awful about it.

I just want to clarify something because it really helps me organize the channel. When you told me on Friday the 18th “for sure tomorrow,” I planned the week around that and left a spot open to post your video. Since it didn’t end up being ready and I didn’t hear back, we went seven days without uploading anything, which really hurts our channel schedule.

I’m not asking for miracles... we all get sick, struggle with depression, or deal with a broken computer. Plus, you’ve got your daughter and your job. Totally understandable. All I need is for you to let me know if you realize you won’t make a deadline you gave me. I won’t be upset -- on the contrary, if I have that info in time, I can rearrange things so we don’t leave a gap. What’s harder for me is having to chase you down.

What complicates things most is not knowing. So even a quick “Jorge, I won’t make it today, I’ll have it by [day]” would help me a ton.

I would understand her resigning due to her situation, but I find it hard to believe that she would say you "chewed her out". Surely a misunderstanding. Or she's a self-victimizing asshole. Who knows.
