my college roommate went to go work for a representative. part of his job was to give tours of the capitol. he got to know the security there pretty well, and so he had no problem accessing the vice president's office when we were there. i took a crap in al gore's private bathroom in his office in the capitol.
amazing.

also, how are you going to leave no trace on a hike? my boots will leave prints.
The first thing I always do when I get to a trailhead is to break off a big leafy branch from a nearby tree and tie it to the back of my pack so it drags along the ground behind me & erases my footprints.

Do you reattach the branch to the tree before you leave?

It's for the benefit of the hikers behind me, so they don't have to look at my gross footprints

If that's Al Gore's private bathroom how are they letting anyone in there or is it more like semi private and his staff can use? How was the flush? And, most importantly...how was the poop and clean-up?
it's just off his main office. my buddy was only able to get the keys to the office because he was close to capitol security.

if i recall, the flush was nothing extraordinary. i don't remember any other details though.

If you're trying to poop in all 63 National Parks, can you use the visitor center bathrooms, or do you have to go out in the back country and dig a cathole?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Great question. For this exercise, you can do a combo of both.

Yeah, as far as I can tell, Biscayne and Dry Tortugas don't have any back country. I'm sure the St. Louis Arch doesn't either.

Man, if there's a public bathroom inside the Arch, I would be all in for that.

There are restrooms at the base of the Arch which is considered part of the Park.

Yes, I pooped there.

Ranking the ones I've been to:

Black Canyon of the Gunnison
Glacier
Rocky Mountain
Canyonlands
Great Sand Dunes
Grand Teton
Yosemite
Sequoia
Mesa Verde
Arches
Badlands
Yellowstone

I honestly can't remember if I've been to Mount Rainier, North Cascades, Olympic, Redwood, Theodore Roosevelt, or Death Valley. Most of them would have been when I was a kid, if so.
