I’ve watched it twice from start to finish and both times it felt like a chore.

The poster and description are telling me not to but I’m gonna try.

Let's compare notes afterward. I'll have it watched by Tuesday midnight.

I recently re-read the book Jurassic Park (or as Mad Magazine phrased it in the 90s, Jur-ass-has-had-it Park). I was very surprised that the first three movies are all represented in the book. A lot in there. I did appreciate that the book gave more room to Malcolm and Hammond butting heads, but that kind of philosophical debate doesn't really make for compelling summer blockbuster fare.

Anyway, the movie is great and it remains surprising to me that it's one of the best looking FX-driven movies still, almost 30 years after it was released. They literally invented filmmaking technique to make that movie happen and I guess immediately forgot/spilled iced tea on all the notes.

That or someone realized wow it's going to be really expensive to keep doing this so let's make it look 90% worse to save 10% on the overhead.
