Not sure what to think of his latest song. Im not big into techno music, but I do believe that others are doing stuff like this better. And by others I mean techno artists.But thats basically always my take when rockbands go full techno.

I still love Currents, but that record turned 10 this year and Kevin has definitely lost a ton of momentum since.

Absolutely true! As a techno artist he is almost as good as most techno artists. But its not unique anymore. Especially where I live (Netherlands) there are soo soo many artists/DJs doing techno like this. He is not elevating it, its just his take on techno and he almost loses what made Tame Impala so special. But Im still curious about this upcoming album.
