I suspect he'll be a post credit. Given the ending of the movie we know about, the F4
Spoiler: show
will pilot their ship through a portal into the 616 universe as the SS destroys Galactus and their universe
so it doesn't look like he'd have anything to do with the main movie.
How do we know this part?
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

The ending leaked online already. But Marvel did re-shoot the ending but from what I hear it was just moving some characters around in the final scenes. This series of events should still remain at the end but Marvel has swerved us before.

This movie will be a flop. I’m shocked it’s getting a third go.

Director Matt Shakman has confirmed that this version of the Fantastic Four exists on Earth 828, deliberately chosen to honor co creator Jack Kirby’s birthday—August 28th (8/28). This timeline choice positions the story within the Marvel Multiverse while paying homage to Kirby's legacy.

Jack Kirby (born Jacob Kurtzberg) was born on August 28, 1917, in New York City. A legendary comics creator, he co-created icons like the Fantastic Four, X Men, Silver Surfer, and many more.

• The designation Earth 828 is more than a mundane code—it’s a heartfelt Easter egg celebrating Kirby’s influence and birthdate.

• Setting the story on another earth allows Marvel to explore fresh narratives without being constrained by the main MCU continuity.

• Creatively, it signals that First Steps will chart its own path—distinct, respectful, and rooted in comic lore.

Exactly what I expected based on the trailers. It was fine. The whole thing felt sanded down and benign to the point I'm guessing a ton of stuff was cut out of this. Galactus was cool and the actors were good.

Also, there was some shockingly bad CGI in this.

While watching this I felt this rising feeling of dread. Because honestly, the first 30-45 minutes of it are lovely, with Matt Shakman showing off many of the things I also loved about his previous MCU work WandaVision: sumptuous production design, warmth and subtlety in character interactions, and a tactile, atmospheric, lived-in world we'd never seen before. But the dread came because I could feel what was about to happen -- that much like WandaVision it was going to surrender to its worst impulses and gradually dissolve into banality, formulaic spectacle, and flat, uninspired filmmaking. I liked it better than the grey lump that was Thunderbolts, and both films ultimately represent an improvement from Marvel's recent projects, but I came out of the film feeling like it was a missed opportunity. Vanessa Kirby is the film's shining star.

Welp, this didn’t happen…

I thought is was great. The best Marvel movie in a while. The only thing I didn’t like was the Thing beard. That was stupid.

Opened kind of soft, softer than Superman, with the worst internal multiplier in the history of the MCU. It won't be anything close to a flop but the market just isn't what it was in the 2010s, especially internationally.

things i liked
Spoiler: show
  • thank you for no long winded origin.
    didnt overplay reeds powers.
nice display of the invisible forcefields.
shala bal as the surfer (and a short origin explanation).
the story was simple. up until the release there was no idea that franklin would be the power source to stop galactus's hunger.
also a nice display of galactus's armor and how it connect to taa II to feed him. t
he thing finally looking like the thing (brow, mouth) and i loved how you could hear the rocks rub together when he moved
how the glossed over other bad guys from their lexicon
what i scratched my head about
Spoiler: show
  • reed showed too much emotion. in the comics reed is very lets just look at the facts type of guy and is a long running issue that he loves sue but doesnt know how to express it
    making them all scientists
galactus streching reed to the point of pain was way to short of a stretch
sue dying. it was done before and was not needed at all to show that franklin has power. galactus wanting the child and only looking for him during the third act explained that enough.
Doom end credit scene. while cool there is absolutely no context. is he the doom of 828? why did he take his mask off for a small child?
the thunderbolts credit scene. where did the FF ship come from and who is in it? is doom escaping with franklin? are the FF going after doom because he made a jump to the 616? or was the sighting of the ship a blip from when they were traveling at the speed of light and they accidently broke through to the 616?
Did the Mother Fucker pay extra to yell?

It's looking more and more like this is the new normal. Instead of expecting a billion, half a billion is probably the new mark. Budgets should be adjusted.
