The thing about mellotrons is they have a built-in kind of delay because of the tapes it uses and the physical mechanics of the machine. Also it diminishes every time you play it. Eventually it will grow old and die... like a human

I listened to the new Black Keys album, a band of which I have been an apologist for a long time (20 years maybe more?), and I heard this album and it was like when you are reading a book and not paying attention to what you are reading and you suddenly really 3 pages later “wait, what happened?” - so I guess at some point I’ll go back and listen again in the hopes something sticks.
