my wife is out of town for business and just texted to say that she is currently in a surreal meeting with 3 board members from blackstone who just told her that their other colleague on the deal was just shot and killed in that new york city shooting at nfl headquarters. so that's a first for her.

nuts..my wife was an executive for them for 9 years..she's been texting people since last night..the lady that was killed started a few years after my wife left..

just awful. talk about the wrong place at the wrong time.

really surprised there was not more security, my memory of that building is that there are usually cops out front too

NFL has a separate security check in desk in the lobby

my recollection was the elevators are the kind where the front desk has to select the floor for you and assign you to an elevator bank where it takes you there (no in-elevator buttons)

so maybe not surprised this bozo couldnt find the NFL's floor

that's what you get for shooting everyone at the lobby front desk!

We thought it was getting better, and my wife had even said that she should probably go back to school on Friday, but that night it flared up worse then ever. We were at the hospital last night till just before midnight. Back to the children's hospital first thing this morning. She had an ultrasound and x-ray. They're keeping her overnight for observation again.

My wife and I are both teachers so we have a couple months together work-free every summer, but we still have kids in the house so it’s not quite the trial run yet. Of course you care. My wife just had a hysterectomy. She was super anxious. We’re two weeks on the other side of it and she’s doing great and already clearly better off for having done it. Next year at this time you’ll be so happy you did this.

When you posted earlier, my first dumb thought was, Twisted Ovaries would be a sick hardcore band name. Having been a father for 18 years now, I frequently have thought about how I wish I could take on their troubles and spare them. I’m sure that’s your headspace right now. Last year my youngest was having trouble breathing. When he was trying to explain it to me, a single tear of frustration/fear rolled down his cheek. We exhausted all possible appointments and it eventually just worked itself out, but man, it’s the most helpless I’ve ever felt. It all worked out tho, and I hope that is how your situation resolves itself.

This might be my dumbest post yet. I have no wisdom and I don’t pray. I just hope good things for all of you.
