I think 100 is the estimate for the four day weekend. I saw 84, which seems decent.
Curious to see what the second weekend does.

Yeah you’re right the $100 m includes the Monday projection.
Guessing the % falloff in the second weekend could be fun.

Things are never going to be like they once were. I don’t know how young people date now. It’s a bummer.

The story right now about Superman is that it's a solid US opening (around $122 mil) but international numbers are devastatingly bad

They should have put Lex Luthor in a fading orange wig. And made him an idiot.Jorge wrote:The story right now about Superman is that it's a solid US opening (around $122 mil) but international numbers are devastatingly bad

I'll be curious to see the box office numbers for The Naked Gun. I hope they're shithouse (good)

Not exactly; 80% drop between its first two Fridays. May not translate to 80% drop for the entire weekend (estimates put that number at 66%), but it's still very bad. Meanwhile Superman is holding stronger than expected. It seems poised to win this particular showdown.bada wrote:I saw FF dropped 80% in its second week. Woof.
The Naked Gun opened a bit softer than expected but maybe it'll grow some legs. It's been very well received, but big-screen comedies tend to not do great nowadays.

Re: Box office talk!
yeah, its horror. Its good because most of Blumhouse´s output this year was not good, but Final Destination and The Monkey made a lot of money so its still a good year for the genre.
yeah, its pretty big. Warner also scores big with another movie.

Huge box office for the new Conjuring movie, 194 million worldwide, surpassing It. Im surprised i kinda felt this one was not going to be that successful.
