Saw Houndmouth last night. Fun show

sorry if i'm pissing on parades, but the aragon is my least favorite venue in the city (i'll take the united center over it). bad sight lines. a mass of humanity. tough to get to. not much nearby for pre- or post-concert stuff. at least daft has reserved seating (that helps a lot -- we saw olivia rodrigo up there about 3 years ago).

I got my tickets for dead center 1st row balcony. My son and I were in a box with a couple. He said he felt like Abraham Lincoln. The tickets were VIP so we came in a side entrance. That was cool. I had no idea what the venue was like. It’s like a town square in Mexico or a setting on the Pirates of the Carribean ride. Honestly, aside from Red Rocks, it’s the coolest venue I’ve ever been in.

going to see Thundercat in about an hour

This was good. Great trio and the dude is very talented. The band is tight and groovy.

That’s so awesome. Having those separate seats adds so much. Glad you had a great time, and hope you didn’t venture too far to the east of the venue (it gets super sketchy).

My cousin was a record executive in the late '90s/early 2000s, and she has maintained relationships with a variety of acts she worked with, so occasionally I'll get emails like the one she sent me today which said: "Do you want me to put you on the guest list for Toad the Wet Sprocket/Three Pence None the Richer?"

That's cool, although it would be a no from me.

It’ll be interesting to see how their newer (ie, less than 25 years old) material sounds in a big arena. I saw them three times from 97-01 and the medium-sized club show was by far the best, I didn’t think a lot of their stuff translated as well to big outdoor festival settings. I bet the last few albums will come across well.

Last time i saw Deftones was in 2000 opening for RHCP, but it seems they could come here next year.

I like the show even more now that its been a couple of days. They really are very talented musicians all around even if it can get a little same-y.
