"there are two old farts here, and one of them looks like a drifter wearing crocs and a baseball hat for some team i've never heard of."
good point..we've heard more cranberries and U2 in all the pubs and even at a lower volume level in restaurants..they one that is surprising to me is how much Phil Ochs I've heard walking around..
really jealous you're there. we loved it there when we went with the family two years ago for spring break.

i don't care what others say: the guinness does in fact taste better there.

I spent a week in my mid-20s in Ireland, County Kerry, specifically. Only spent 36 hours in Dublin. One of the most beautiful places/countries I’ve ever visited. Need to go back one day.

At the beach during a hurricane and the dryer in my condo blew up so I’m currently sitting in a laundromat. On the plus side they have plenty of Spanish language religious pamphlets to read.

rode my bike up to the beach to check out the hurriance-related scene

intense surf

steady 25 mph wind from the E/NE

Coast Guard out with the big vessels doing exercises. Dude on the top of the mast in all the gear, ramming straight through 10-20 foot waves. making their giant steel boat look like a bathtub toy getting sloshed around by mother nature

i wish i had an american flag and a flare gun i would have fired them all off

tax dollars at work

McD's in other countries can be sneaky good ... source ingredients regionally

have a neighbor that went to iceland recently and said the KFC was off the charts

the chicken was a different animal than in the US (pun intended!)

Quite possibly the worst subgenre of music on the planet.
I'm working here again today and the same guy is blasting his bro-country. I just heard a song with the hook "Jack makes good whisky but God makes the good stuff"
