Re: Deftones
I mean, he could be referring to anything, not necessarily politics -- e.g. he often writes about religious indoctrination -- but I kind of wish he'd grounded it more clearly in that, or anything (I suppose the title "Genesis" might point to religion but please, Chino, use the potential of that title in your actual lyrics)LoathedVermin72 wrote:Trying Ohms again. Yeah, still a no from me. This is so dull and uninspired. "Error" is pretty good but that's about it for me here
Agree with this, these are embarrassing lyrics, and made much more egregious by being the first words you hearMs Harmless wrote:I enjoy Ohms musically but it doesn't help that the first lyrics are middle-aged centrism 101: "I reject both sides of what I've been told... I've finally achieved balance!"
the record has a hard time regaining my attention after that
I feel as if Private Music does all of this better in every way

On to Gore. This already much better than Ohms, but Jeeeeeeesus does it need a remaster. The production/mixing sounds dreadful

Yeah Gore is very good, I've been sleeping on this one a bit. "Hearts / Wires" and "L(MIRL)" are particularly great

Kinda disappointing to see they're only playing three songs from the new album at their shows right now

I know, and normally I wouldn't even want to hear a bunch of new songs, but this album is so good!Ello Sailor wrote:Three songs is pretty standard, dawg.
