Prisma and Ozma sound like classic JRPG antagonists. I love it.

So Prisma loves playing with this little foam football. I throw it down the hallway and she chases after it. Yesterday, she started carrying it in her mouth to my office door while I'm working, dropping it on the floor, and meowing. She is smart enough to ask me to throw the ball for her, essentially. Have never had a cat do this before, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

I love it when cats play fetch. My Dex used to do that

Having a cat learn they can trust you is such a rewarding experience. While I don't know what she's been through, it's clear that Prisma has some trauma in her past. When I first brought her home, she would often flinch and slink away from pets, wouldn't set foot on the bed while my wife and I are going to sleep, and always kept her gaze downward, never making eye contact. While she still has some progress left to make, now she smashes her head into my hand to get pets, hops onto the bed to come see me as soon as I wake up, and looks right into my eyes regularly. Cats are such perfect little creatures, I'm so thankful to have her in my home. I still miss Ozma horribly and find myself unexpectedly crying every now and then, but having Prisma has brought a lot of light back.

Had a vet appointment today (for an unrelated issue) and the vet agreed with my suspicion that Prisma has a BB under the skin in her leg. Poor little baby. People are so awful.

Prisma is having some health issues that are going to require her to be sedated for treatment and it’s worrying me a lot. If anything happens to her I don’t how I’m going to handle it

She's gonna be fine, bro. Standard practice. They'll fix her right up.

She’s out of anesthesia now and slowly returning to her silly self. She handled everything like a champ. Had two teeth pulled and will probably need more in the future. Also has an ear infection. Hopefully nothing too serious.

Our boy has just gone in this morning to have his hip joint removed or something. They're gonna manipulate the muscle around there to do all the heavy lifting

Should be alright. He injured himself a few months back and we took him to the vet - who did x-rays and it showed he'd pretty much shattered his hip bone. They siad given his age and weight - it may heal by itself, and said to keep him crated and minimize his movement - bring him back for more x-rays in 3 months. We did that - and their diagnosis was more x-rays in a few months. At that stage I got a copy of his records and sent them to my sister who looked at them and said the only time she'd seen an injury like that not have surgery was if the owners couldn't afford surgery and the only other option was euthanasia. Said he was probably in a lot of pain and would be arthritic later in life if left. So we went to another clinic - he'll be crated again (mostly) for a couple of weeks and then it's a 180 and we need to get him using that leg as much as possible
