You’ll need someone to guide you around in the dark in Iceland.

no

keep at arm's length

only time will decide the one or two that might be maintainable

but that is up to the universe

We had a good time. I was warm, yet distant.

We gossiped about some of the other parents. He spilled more tea than me, so I should be good.

He talks a lot about his domineering wife. I’m worried they won’t last, then I’m mates with the divorced pariah. How to navigate.

Power washed the patio, quickly becoming my most hated chore. Gets even filthier with the puppies out there tracking mud around.

Perhaps this is the excuse I need to pull her out of private school and save a few bob.

Final day off, after more than a month away from work. Will probably be good to get back, first time with two kids.

usually there is at least one disrupter freak kid that impedes the ability of others to learn and/or spreads bad habits (which usually correlates with the parent being a freak / or divorce trauma) but sometimes there’s like a few and it makes it extra toxic

if weighing a switch do as much DD as possible on the new class to make sure it is not worse

Walked the dog and listened to 30 minutes of the latest Local H podcast. The dog shat twice. The second one was gross.

Wife and I rode our e-bikes into St. Paul for the farmers’ market. Our garden zucchini did not do well this year so we got some to make bread. Arranged a pickleball date with my friend for tomorrow morning while my wife shopped.

On the way home, a real cyclist hauled ass to catch up and say, “You know you’re on the wrong side of the road, right?” I cheerfully said, “Yep!” I will always face traffic on a bike. He was clearly frustrated with me, but he can eat my ass.

Anticipated both my kids going to boxing at noon and the missus and I enjoying an afternoon delight, but my youngest son’s friend who lives 45 minutes away was unexpectedly here when we got back. The older son went to boxing and my wife sent the other one and his friend to walk the dog so we could shag. She’s a good woman.

Watched the WWE in Paris event. My oldest watched the Cena match with me and I sent a college friend whom I play Mario Golf with regularly a calendar invite for Cena’s last match in December.

Finished the NYT crossword in just under 59 minutes. Had one square wrong. Fuck!

Watched the first episode of season 5 of Mad Men. It was 90 minutes. Way too long. I have not loved this show, but I am determined to see it through.

Emptied two dead mice out of the traps I set last night in the back corner of my house. I could hear those fuckers in the wall in the morning last week when I’d hop on the treadmill for a walk.

Spent an hour going through my closet and ironing some clothes ahead of school. This led to two realizations: 1) I’m fat. 2) I dress like Ray Romano.

Not a bad Sunday. Looking forward to cooler weather and football.
