It is one of the dirtiest and sexiest albums of all time.
To be fair, Bono has very actively held Lou Reed on a pedestal since day one. Perhaps more than any other artist (with the possible exception of David Bowie).

"Run, Run, Run" was my first Velvet song at age 18. Its rawness was so cool. Blew me away.

I'm not sure if you're being facetious or not, but I would imagine that if he does write and release something, it will probably be a really nice, really appropriate piece. If you've watched any of his RRHOF induction speeches or his Sinatra speech from the mid-90's, he's really excellent at this type of thing.
Yeah, it's fucked up that a guy who grew up listening to and being inspired by these guys, only to later become friends with them and know them on a personal level would want to talk about them and their legacy. What a fucking cock.

It was another dick move by him to bring them on tour with them in 2005. I can't believe he forced them against their will to open for them and join them on stage to cover Love Will Tear Us Apart.
Passive-aggression has never looked so ugly, Lament. Seriously.

He definitely just shows up uninvited to these events or videos or whatever and forces himself onto camera, or breaks into magazine headquarter to force them to publish things he writes about other artists. It's definitely not a case of people reaching out and asking him to do these things, and him doing them out of deference/respect/admiration for the subjects.
