Re: Not worthy of a thread News
one of them the flapper tension / handle is all weird. it's like high pressure press to flush the toilet. i tried fixing it and it didnt work and is creeping me out. and the insides look aged and i am traumatized from leaking flappers so playing no games when it comes to flappery.
ultimately I just decided to replace that toilet and another one. they are both old af. not leaking at present but god knows when they blow. I enjoy the new toilet i got in another bathroom. you use them every day. it's an important thing. if it's comfortable and feels good, it's a regular life improvement.
so just going for it
fuck the flappers

The problem with democracy is that everyone thinks they need to have an opinion about everything

what began as a flapper leak has opened a doorway to a potential quality of life improvement i had not anticipated
the circle of life is powerful

OK glad that is the only sad part.wease wrote:The ONLY thing sad about it is that his kids saw their dad get shot and killed. No kids should have to see that.Birds in Hell wrote:If you don't think this is sad and horrifying, you're a ghoul.
Hardly a novel observation, but things aren't going well over there, guys.
Because here was my dumb ass thinking the only sad part is that here in the United States in 2025 anyone with an opinion and a platform is an acceptable target to be murdered. Anyone could be next - your fave gal pal AOC? Could be anyone.
And here was my dumb ass thinking that fear of relatiation or other consequences might make people disinterested in the good of their fellow man. Here let me just make up a wild hypothetical example: Young girl murdered on subway train by career criminal and bystanders do nothing. Gee I wonder if it has ANYTHING to do with the last time someone intervened in a situation like this, he was arrested for it because racist racist racist. And if you talk about this stuff you get shot and killed - what an idiot I am to think that's the sad part.

Re: Charlie Kirk
what’s sad is we’ll move on from this very quickly, as we do with other violent endings. the machine keeps moving.
what’s sad is this will in no way affect law makers enough to make real and meaningful legislative changes to make it harder for things like this to happen.
what’s sad is they - repubs and dems in power - do not care about deaths. what’s sad is they see this as an opportunity for more theater, and no action.
what’s sad is no one cares about our children dying the same awful death that most of us saw yesterday. our kids keep dying from gun violence, and they don’t get to live a full life. what’s sad is that’s taken from them, and we keep moving along, and yet somehow, some privileged white guy, who spewed the most hateful ass rhetoric, never backing down from it…he’s somehow a martyr? for who? for what?
what’s sad is this is only pitting people against each other, rather than solving an actual problem.
oh, and…our children are dying, and no one fucking cares.

My boss this morning (casual, off-hand): Good morning, how are ya?
My colleague: Not great!
Boss (aggressively for some reason): Why? What's wrong?
Colleague: The state of the world, bad things happening
Boss (kinda thrown off, stammering): Oh, yeah, I mean, I shouldn't even, I don't want to, ya know. (all of a sudden in a hushed tone, emotional): I loved that kid
