Colossus RULES!
The Comic world is full of weirdos and they like to eat their own but all I can remember about Cassady was that his art went way down hill towards the end there but I believe he had health problems and brain stuff so maybe that is why.
i meant whedon as being a horrible person. by all accounts cassaday was a good guy
which leads to another question
can you still enjoy someones work even thought you think they are an asshole?
im thinking distinctly of Ethan van Sciver and jim steranko
Honestly, Van Sciver has never really appealed to me. Yeah, he throws a LOT of detail in his work, but his figures were always very stiff and unnatural. So I have no problem ignoring him. Steranko’s heyday was before my time really. Everything I’ve read of his has been more recently and I didn’t really learn of his assholeness until after I read it. I don’t think it would keep me from rereading, tho.
I’m not gonna lie tho. All those guys involved with Comicsgate, I don’t really pay attention to anymore. I still like some of their older stuff, but they won’t get my support on any new shit.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

Art v Artist is definitely something I struggle with more these days.

Im also planning on re reading Knightfall, maybe even buying the whole thing. I have Azrael and some other stuff, including a very fancy number with Jean Paul as Batman. I was so proud of that one haha.
Im also thinking on getting into Reign Of Supermen.
Definitely been a while for Knightfall here too, I have those collected editions as well. I did snag the Hush (20th Anniversary Edition) albeit digitally but as a new read that might be next.
The digital collected edition of A Death in the Family also included the A Lonely Place of Dying five-issue arc, which I only had the three Batman issues back in the day so that was an enjoyable read.
It had been some time so had a revisit of Year One as well as Dark Victory recently. Not that there is a need for comparison but the art for Dark Victory might exceed the greatness of The Long Halloween, it's just tremendous.
New read was the collection of Batman: Year Two which I assume most know as Batman with a gun. All panels with Batman in a holster are weird but McFarlane has some really great work in the last three issues. The collection also includes Full Circle which has Alan Davis return to pencil the one-shot sequel.
Looks like the last chapter for the first half of H2SH is pushed back to January. We’ll never get the full story. Theo will go the way of All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder by Miller/Lee.
Don’t really know what’s going on with the Long Halloween sequel by Loeb and various. I can’t remember when the last issue was out and I’m not seeing the next one in any upcoming listings.
Year One is great to read with the Loeb/Sale work. Their stuff was a continuation of Y1, after all.
It’s been a while, but I remember Year Two being good. Kinda jarring going from Davis to McFarlane, tho.

I’ve started the Sandman Mystery Theatre Compendium Vol 2. I had never read any of these before getting these Compendiums and this is a great fucking series.
Also started the GI Joe RAH Compendium Vol 1 and have ordered Vol 2 which releases next week I thing. These things are 50 issues each and are reprinting all of the original Marvel series including spinoff series and yearbooks.

Yeah issue #8 came out early August and noticed there is nothing new on the DC site last night, supposed to be ten issues
Year Two was definitely quite different in tone as well as the art change but I feel it worked out. The bold is noted in the forward as to why it wasn't collected for some time.
I may go with Year Three tonight, supposed to be pretty shitty weather again.
