Anyway, that's hilarious. It kinda is a ska song. I don't know to feel about this.

Yeah it's got the guitar upstroke on the backbeat thing. It's just kind of buried in the mix.

Raise the guitar's volume and replace Ricky Martin's voice for the guy from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and it becomes unquestionably a ska song, IMO

I thought I did but I just googled the question and it's an observation many people have made before

I'm going to give it to you for suggesting the upstroke guitar become more prominent.

I was just thinking about the song "Grounds for Divorce" by Elbow which was pretty big around the "blogosphere" back in the day, and how it feels like the exact intersection of two extremely odious subgenres: the "stomp-clap-hey" sound and the Imagine Dragons sound. But I still kind of like it

Look up Rick Nielsen's Quint Neck Guitar. The last two necks are fully unreachable!

I would imagine those strings are in an open tuning so the big cluster in the middle is not really meant to be fretted. You would just do the occasional Big Strum while you're picking away at the lower ones. Not sure

You'd probably have to resort to two-handed tapping like Tony Levin did with the Champan Stick. Still, it's dumb as hell and definitely for the memes.

Hot take: the music is quite good on Geese’s new album, but what is going on with the vocals? This is some of the worst singing I can remember in a real long time.

Rob Zombie's Hellbilly Deluxe (1998) is kind of a masterpiece. It's possibly the best dumbass music ever recorded. Industrial nu-metal? Whatever. The opening run of Superbeast > Dragula > Living Dead Girl is completely nuts.

I still prefer White Zombie, but I respect the hell out of his efforts immediately following the band's demise.

Hellbilly Deluxe is one of the greatest albums ever made. Nothing else sounds like it. It’s a masterpiece and I’m eternally grateful for its existence (especially every October).

“The Ballad of Resurrection Joe & Rosa Whore” has the hardest chorus in the goddamn world. That guitar tone is absolutely insane.

Now that Riggs and Blasko are back with Zombie, I have completely unreasonable expectations for the next album. I need it yesterday.
