I can't speak for anyone else, but generally I'm not sure if a "lazy" criticism is always a wrong one. I haven't spent years honing a nuanced opinion of Bono because I haven't needed to.Lament wrote:Now you absolutely know that's not true.harmless wrote:They would've got less lazy / more clever if they'd ever needed to.

See? It wasn't that hard.theplatypus wrote:Here's a not-tired not-lazy criticism of Bono: I hate how he falls out of time near the end of "All Because of You". Fuck that guy.

Re: R.I.P. Lou Reed
I used to have a lot of bad things to say about Bono. He's not someone I'd want to hang out with, and I can't stand his band, but he isn't so bad that I feel the need to talk shit on him on an internet forum.

I'm thinking of leaving the forum, but not until I can think of a GD-worthy title for my leaving thread.

Re: R.I.P. Lou Reed
@Jorge: Nope. It dances on the border between overly crass and adequately offensive, thus my usage of late.

He left behind a 8000-word essay about himself. It's running on next month's Rolling Stone.stip wrote:So Bono died?

Re: R.I.P. Lou Reed
Here are some memories of my experience with Lou:
I saw him in 2000, around that time, i think a week before i was supposed to see PJ playing with Sonic Youth. They didnt came but SY did ( with sean lennon) and they gave and absolute marvelous concert. Blown me away.
I was already a pretty good Reed fan, because Ecstasy came out that year and i loved it. I also loved Set the twilight reeling, a record that everybody seemed to hate at the time.
He played a small theatre in Buenos Aires, i went there not knowing what to expect really...i didnt use internet at the time to see what he was playing and all i knew was that Lou´s behavior onstage was random at best.
Well, he treat us good.....the crowd went nuts for most of the show, he even did a little tai chi during one of the Ecstasy songs and a pretty unconventional second encore; Perfect Day and Walk on the wild side. He seemed very happy and humble with the crowd response during the show. I still have the program and ticket for that night and the awesome memory of see him in a very very good moment. (Also

Re: R.I.P. Lou Reed
He'll have to induct himself into some hall of whatever posthumously. No one else is up to the task. I'm sure he's got something prepared already, and a donation of another $5 million to needy African children...dick.stip wrote:So Bono died?
