I got to see and hear her speak when I was in college about 25 years ago. Even with her quieter tone, she had the audience totally enthralled for the entire speech.
What’d she speak about?
Her experiences in Africa, chimpanzees and what she wanted for the world going forward. I don’t remember many specifics other than she felt like she had real friendships with some of the chimps. Today I reached out to my friend who encouraged me to go see her speak that day. It’s been a few years since we last talked.
Did you pursue a relationship with her?
She was too young for me.
Gross!
And they say that a hero could save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait

This is a lovely post, and now I feel bad.

How did you find out?

Every few months I type “Rebecca Schull” into Google because I’m a little worried she’s going to pass and I’m going to miss it. I love her so much. She’s 96 now. I don’t think she’s acting anymore, but I hope she’s comfortable and with it. I’m not surprised she outlasted David Schramm, but I still can’t get over Farrah Forke dying so young.

Isn’t it actually more of a philistine move to know who she was? She was a sitcom star.
