He was just a shitty therapist. This was during the height of lockdown so it was online sessions, and I always got the sense that he kept getting distracted on his computer while I talked. We had 3 sessions before I cut him loosetragabigzanda wrote:Your resistance to their guidance is the surest sign yet that their divorce fucked you upJorge wrote:I had a similarly frustrating experience a couple years ago with a therapist who wanted to tie every. single. one. of my frustrations back to my parents' divorce. Instead of working through the issues, you ended the relationship. The sins of the parents…Jorge wrote:He was just a shitty therapist. Re: breakthroughs in therapy
holy shit. I had to cancel my therapy session last week.
i got a reminder 24 hours in advance, so i let him know i had to cancel.
He told me there's a fee for cancelling less than 48 hours in advance.
Kinda bullshit, right?
I can top it. The cancellation fee is $235!
Fuck off. That's way more stressful than anything I was working on in therapy.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Re: breakthroughs in therapy
I e-mailed him b/c I though it was a typo. Like it was supposed to be $25.
You can cancel with a brain surgeon for $25.

Re: breakthroughs in therapy
Based on the last couple pages, this thread title is very misleading.
